Utah Bison Hunt
At Jake Bess Hunting, we proudly offer premier bison hunts in both the Henry Mountains and the Book Cliffs—two of Utah’s most iconic and challenging hunting destinations. Backed by generations of hunting experience and a deep-rooted knowledge of these rugged landscapes, our team is dedicated to delivering high-success, high-satisfaction hunts. We specialize in guiding clients through every step of the process—from tag application to final harvest—ensuring a safe, ethical, and unforgettable pursuit of free-ranging, wild bison. With consistently high success rates and a commitment to personalized service, Jake Bess Hunting is your trusted outfitter for a once-in-a-lifetime bison adventure.
The Book Cliff Utah Bison Hunts
Hunting bison in the Book Cliffs presents a formidable challenge due to the remote and rugged landscape regardless of which Book Cliffs area you are hunting. Book Cliffs has two bison areas to select from in the draw, the Book Cliffs, Little Creek/South and the Book Cliffs, Bitter Creek. The Little Creek South unit is made up of an entirely roadless area that Jake Bess Hunting is especially equipped to tackle with high quality pack stock. The Bitter Creek area has more road access, but can also be exceptionally difficult without the aid of a qualified outfitter.
The Henry Mountain Utah Bison Hunts
The Henry mountains consistently boast high success rates, often ranging from 85% to 100%. These figures paint a different picture than the hunt really entails. For these bison hunts can be arjuase and physically demanding, as well mentally challenging with the vast canyon lands these bison call home.
With a rare tag in hand, partnering with an experienced outfitter is key. At Jake Bess Hunting, we take pride in having a strong track record of guiding clients to success in this rugged terrain, offering expert scouting, in-depth local knowledge, and personalized support to help turn a once-in-a-lifetime bison hunt into a memorable and rewarding achievement.
